#Repost @chadhargrove1 (@get_repost) ・・・ Do you just walk into the gym moving aimlessly from what machine to another? - You look around at other people and feel everyone else has it figured out. - Making your own workouts isn’t really that complicated. - Let me show you. - Before I do, I wouldn’t want you to get me wrong here. There’s more ways to write workouts than this, and there’s plenty more exercise options than the ones I gave you as examples. - This template makes sense, and although a whole body workout schedule can go for more than 3 days. This type of thing usually makes the most sense if you’re gonna go 2-3 days a week. - Some other questions you may have? - What about sets? - You’ll be fine with 3-4 sets per exercise . - What about reps? - For the most part, 6-12 makes good sense. If you wanna continue to get stronger at any one of these as strength gains slow down, you may have to go below 6 so you can use heavier weights for a bit. - For the isolation stuff I’d stick between 10-20 for the most part. - General rule of thumb for reps: - Reps per set should increase as you move along the workout. Lowest to highest. - Why’d I put hinge twice? - Because you probably need more glutes than quads. - Why is split squat under squat and not lunge? - It made more sense to me and it isn’t gonna matter for you much. A Lunge occurs with a step and a split squat starts from a split stance and you squat from it. - Rest periods? - Mostly 90 seconds to 2 minutes keeps workouts lengths reasonable. - Do you pair these? - You can, I often put two or three exercises together in supersets or circuits. So 2-3 exercises together with minimal rest between. Often pairing non-competing exercises but sometimes I put two exercises that hit the same thing. - Anything I miss? ⚡️Flashback Friday ⚡️ . Since the weather was so beautiful today I decided to go on a walk with my family. The walk took me to a path I had not crossed in 6 years . On the left was 6 years ago when I finished university and football and returned home. I was in debt, no job, and had no direction . My football experience gave me some expertise in fitness, which also gave me hope that I could do something to change my situation . I’ve been a bit MIA from social media lately. We all get so consumed with our devices and lose ourselves in this fast paced digital world. It’s so refreshing to take a step back to focus on other things.
